Class Information
5th Grade Class of 2010-2011
We begin our year with a great expedition!! Mrs. Heinrich and I are currently in the process of revealing exactly what our topic is and we don't want to spoil it. As soon as the students know, I will post it here.
This is my second year at PPSEL as a 5th grade teacher, and I couldn't be happier!! I am looking forward to getting to know your students this year. Following is some information about our classroom and 5th grade:
Homework policy: 5th grade students should plan to spend about 50 minutes per night on homework. All 5th graders should be reading for at least 20 minutes per night, which is included in that 50 minute time. Students will write homework assignments in their planners each day. I require a parent or guardian to sign the planner each night. Please feel free to use the planner as a means of communication with me.
Field Work: Much of our learning at PPSEL is done through the utilization of experts in the field we are studying. In order to facilitate this type of learning, we depend on parents to drive students to the field work locations. As soon as field work is confirmed, a permission slip will be sent home with your student. The permission slip will also contain an area to indicate if you are available to drive to the field work location. I know that without the support of parent drivers, our field work would not be possible, and I appreciate the effort our drivers make to be available.
Communication: Communication between parents and me is vital to successful students. The best way to reach me is via email because I am with students most of my day. If you need to speak to me or meet with me face-to-face, I am happy to set up an appointment. My email address is lisa.busch@ppsel.org. The office phone number is 522-2580. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to a great year. Thank you for all the support you give your students!!
