Updates for the start of the year

Below are some “Frequently Asked Questions” and dates for the beginning of the year.
How do I find out which class my child is in?
Classroom lists will be posted at Meet Your Teacher Night.  If you cannot make it that night, contact the office afterwards and we will be happy to share.
Will students be required to wear masks this year?
PPSEL will be following the D49 policy on masks in schools. Students will not be required to wear masks, but are encouraged to make decisions that are best for themselves and their family. For detailed information on that policy, you can read it here: https://www.d49.org/Page/8477. As you might imagine, schools will shift as new recommendations and requirements come into play.
We are a new family, what if we don’t have uniforms ready by the first day of school?
We give new families understanding as they adjust to joining our school.  There will be a grace period for families to get uniform shirts.  Also, don’t forget that families can get gently used uniforms on Aug 3rd and 4th.
What will school lunches cost this year?
There will be NO FEE for school lunches again this year. The Federal Government has extended no-cost meals through 21-22.

August 3rd and 4th:

Uniform Sale/Swap From 10-2 on August 3rd and 4th, there will be a used uniform sale/swap at PPSEL.  Parents can purchase gently used uniform shirts for $1.  Returning parents can also swap a gently used shirt for a different one. Supplies in certain sizes are very limited and we may limit the number of shirts available for each family.
August 5th:
New Family Orientation at 4:00.  This will be a chance for new families to meet leadership and learn about important processes at PPSEL.  This will be a virtual event.  We have previously had this happen at Meet Your Teacher Night, but it was overwhelming for new families, so we will spend an hour or less virtually this year so families can focus solely on their child’s classroom(s) and teacher(s) at Meet Your Teacher Night. School leadership will also have a space at Meet Your Teacher night as well for specific questions. Please plan on joining at using this Zoom link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88524453647?pwd=cGEwTFFSeGZGdUcxUFZBT2hpTTdidz09
Meet Your Teacher Night  This is an Open House format from 5:30-7.  Families will learn classroom/teacher assignments, hear from the teacher regarding classroom procedures, and parents can also bring in their school supplies, if they choose.
