PPSEL uses assessment data to guide instruction and to be responsive to each student’s needs as an individual.
The PPSEL assessment calendar can be found here: Assessment Calendar
We often coordinate and overlap testing with School District 49. Detailed information can be found here: https://www.d49.org/
Schools use state assessment to guide instruction, to place students in classes for the following school year, to determine programming effectiveness and other purposes as well.
A parent/guardian who wishes to exempt his or her child from a particular state assessment or assessments shall make this request in accordance with district policy. This request should be submitted through a district-provided form, completed annually. In accordance with state law, the district shall not impose a negative consequence upon a student whose parent/guardian has requested an exemption from a state assessment.
The opt out form for the 2025-26 school year will be available in early January, 2026.
