WELCOME BACK 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS!
Welcome to a New School Year!
I’m so excited to begin a new school year and to have the opportunity to teach your child! During the first week, we’ll spend time reviewing previously learned concepts to help ease back into the school routine. We will also be administering the STAR assessments and math placement exams, so it will be a busy and important week.
To help your student start off strong, please ensure they get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast each day. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and fun!
Parents/Guardians,
Students have the opportunity to correct any homework assignments that receive a failing grade and resubmit them for a higher grade. We review homework together in class each day, addressing any questions or concerns students may have. They are welcome to make corrections during this review process.
If you have any questions about this policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email.

I have been teaching at PPSEL since 2019. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am super excited to start a new year working with you and your scholar! It is going to be year full of adventure and learning and I can’t wait to see what your scholar brings to class. I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
I have been married to my amazing husband Jason since 2011. We have two sons, Gavin and Jack. They are balls of energy that keep me on my feet at all times when I am not at school. We love to go hiking, cooking and read together!
I graduated from Buena Vista University with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in math. I earned my masters from NSU in Curriculum and Instruction in 2014. I began teaching in 2006 and have taught math grades 5 thru 8 and science. I truly enjoy teaching mathematics! It is my goal to give kids a clear understanding of mathematics so that they are not afraid to do the math. I push to show my students how this will all apply to their life outside of my classroom.
