Art Class with Mrs. Guinnane
Classroom Procedures/Expectations
Classroom rules, procedures and expectations will help students feel safe, welcomed and supported. The following guidelines, in addition to the school-wide discipline procedures, will help to ensure student success in the classroom all year long. What are the basic rules in our ART class?
Always do your BEST
Respect yourself and others
Take time to share your thoughts & ideas
Beginning of Class - Review weekly learning target(s) and ART class rules.
Name on Work - Write your name clearly on the back/bottom right corner of your artwork.
Asking a Question - Ask 3 before me! If another student cannot help you, raise your hand and wait for the teacher to come help you.
Cleaning Up - Art is messy! We must work together 5-10 minutes before the end of class to keep the classroom safe and clean.
- Submit artwork whether it’s complete/incomplete.
- Put all art supplies away where they belong.
- Wipe down & sanitize working areas.
- Throw away all garbage or recyclable materials.
- Wash your hands after you are done cleaning up.
Washing Hands - Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
Early Finishers - Choose an activity from the list of art tasks/art menu if you complete an assignment early.
Recycling - Recycle clean paper/scraps only; no trace of glue, paint, or chemical substance.
Respect Artwork - Take care of your artwork whether it is completed or not; do not fold, crumple or destroy any of your work. You will collect and take home all your artwork by the end of semester.
Hello! I am Kristin Guinnane and I have been in elementary education for 19 years and have taught across all grade levels from K-8th grade. In 2005, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Art from Cal State Hayward. I am a credentialed K-8 Multiple Subject teacher and hold endorsements in Visual Art and CLD education. Art has always been my passion since I was in elementary school and I truly believe every student has the ability to unlock their own creative genius when given the opportunity. Aside from creating and collecting artwork, I love reading, running, attending baseball games and concerts and exploring new places all over Colorado with my husband, our two children and our two dogs. My children and I love being a part of our PPSEL community and we look forward to another exciting year here!
